"The Salmi Slam" An 8km one-way gravel road time trial.

Park at Lappe Nordic Centre on Kam Current Road.  

Warm up (10km): Ride 7.2km West on Kam Current until the Auto Road intersection and turn left.  Ride 2.8km south to Salmi Road for the start.

Race (8.1km approx): Heading east on Salmi Road towards Mapleward.  Riders will start 1min apart.

Cool Down (3km): Head North on Mapleward and then turn left on Kam Current Road to return to the Lappe Ski Centre.

NOTES:

-course subject to change due to weather & road conditions (please check website & Facebook for updates)

-we will not put restrictions on the type of bike you choose to ride, but, for safety reasons, gravel or 'cross bikes (33mm tires and greater) or mountain bikes are highly recommended for the gravel TTs due to rough road conditions.

-For the safety of riders, volunteers and residents, please DO NOT PARK ON THE ROADS.  We chose this venue because Reijo Ruiras has graciously offered the use of his parking lot at the Nordic Centre.  This will be our base for the gravel series.

"The Lappe Loop" A 16km one-way gravel road time trial.

Park at Lappe Nordic Centre on Kam Current Road.  This will also be the start area.

Race (16km approx): Heading west on Kam Current towards Auto Rd.  At the intersection with Auto, yield to traffic and when it is safe, turn right and travel NE on Auto Road back towards Mapleward.

Everyone welcome-these weekly TTs are a great intro to racing and a fantastic way to add a little intensity and speed to your riding.  Race against the clock and race against yourself (we will be returning here each month so you can check your fitness against this April baseline).   

Riders will start 1 minute apart and race 5km east on River Road before checking for traffic and turning around and heading back to the start/finish.

Free.  Must be a TBCC member.  Parking available at Stanley.  Sign up with Maureen 6pm-6:20pm

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR THE 2017 SEASON

Cycle for Canada's 150th:  Saturday, July 8 starting and ending at Kamview.  Followed by a social event.  More info to come. Register here!

An individual member can ride 150 km, OR two members can ride 100km and 50 km OR three members can ride 50m each!  The social will be a BBQ/potluck.  Cyclists are encouraged to wear red or maple leafs or other Canada Day items.

Membership is the same price as last year.  All registrations must be done on-line.  In order to register as a member for the 2017 season simply click on the Membership tab at the top of the TBCC Home Page and then Register with TBCC. Follow the instructions and the links to the CCN site.  

Your executive is busy planning events for 2017 and once the schedule is finalized the events will be posted on the calendar.  Our Fat Bike schedule is already on the February and March calendars!

OCA MEMBERS from OTHER CLUBS in Ontario

I) TBCC can allow OCA members, who are not a member of our club, to participate in our activities, provided it is on an occasional basis and the rider agrees to participate under the our club rules.  

A visiting OCA member from out of town may be permitted to participate in our club’s events at our discretion.   They must show proof of their membership and insurance with the OCA by showing an Affiliate Club membership card, UCI Licence. Anyone not able to show this type of proof will not be able to participate until they can provide this proof.
