Description: Out Highway 61, right onto Hwy 130, Right onto Candy Mt right on  Gillespie

Start: Junction of Hwy 61 and Gillespie Road.

FinishOn Gillespie Road just before Hwy 61 jct.

Cycle for Canada's 150th Ride


You can choose to ride as a single participant or in teams of 2 or 3.  One person can ride all 150km.  Two people can ride - 100km and 50km.  Three people can ride 50km each.

Start Location:  Kamview parking lot              End Location:  Kamview parking lot

We are currently determing the routes.

150 km Start Time:   8:00am 

100km Start Time:   9:00am       If you think you need more time feel free to start after the 150 km start.

50 Km Start Time:  10:00am       If you feel you need more time feel free to start after the 100 km start

Course closes at 2:00pm

Follwed by a social event - BBQ/potluck from 1:00-3:00pm...more info to come

There will be no aid stations so please bring your own water and food for your ride.  There will be several places to stop on the routes to pick up snacks etc.  

Want to look the part?  Feel free to represent Canada's Birthday by decoration your bike or wearing Canadian attire!!

The prologue.  Don't forget to order a new TT bike and disc wheel from your favourite local shop just for this event... or at least shave your legs, because this ultra-short one-way time trial will only produce minimal time gaps.

Tour of Thunder Bay stage 2: Stanley Hill Climb 6:30pm $20/Series

We call this one "The Gillinghammer" after its creator Josh Gillingham.

Park at Stanley, at barrie dr as per barrie dr parking.  This one-way TT heads straight up the southwest hill, plateaus at the top and continues with a second climb with a false flat at the top, ending about half way to Four-Corners. essentially at top of Cliff-Mclean Hill on 588. TT/road bike for this event. your choice.

Series Tour Cost=$20 for entire series., $10if just enter 1 event. There is no charge for prologue 5k tt thur as it is part of weekly tt series.

Cat 3-4, neutral ride from start at 130. R @hwy 61, (culvert creek constr.) R @ 608 up moose hill (let er rip) stay on 608 to south gillies, R @ 595, down Mile Hill. R @ 588, R @ Barrie dr to finish near end of Barrie Dr.  Distance = 53K

Race Name:  Lakeshore    Distance (Km): tbd approx 13k. this is changed route from hwy 130 due to construction on hwy 130. 

Format:         One way             

Description: one way, lakeshore dr.

Start: just down from Bare Point Rd , 

Finish: Near fire Hall at end of lakeshore. , then make safe turn and freindly return ride.

Parking: on right side of Bare Point road.

CommentsWarm up on lakeshore and trainers, be cautious of traffic at start and during warm up, lakeshore is single file riding to return, and please stay on the shoulder paved strip during TT and on return. .

Long RR Devon rd/588/608

Start: 9:00 am at Slate River Dairy.

this is a long one and not for faint of heart. 

Route: Down hwy 61 single file (neutral) to Devon Rd. (Highway 593). Rolling start on right on Devon Rd. all way to 588 at the Station Inn (km80), right at 588 to Hymers/South gillies intersection where we turn right on Hwy 595. Up Mile Hill to South Gillies, left on 608 past Rose Valley Inn, all way back to finish at Slate River Dairy, caution on Moose Hill downhill.

100 Km Challenge!




We are LIVE!!! Registration is up and running!

Membership is the same price as last year.  All registrations must be done on-line.  In order to register as a member for the 2018 season simply click on the Membership tab at the top of the TBCC Home Page and then Register with TBCC. Follow the instructions and the links to the CCN site.  

Your executive is busy planning events for 2018 and once the schedule is finalized the events will be posted on the calendar.  Our Fat Bike schedule is already on the February and March calendars!

Racing schedule changes usually done on website, but see Facebook group, "Thunder Bay Cycling Club" for any last minute changes due to weather, roads, etc.. 



I) TBCC can allow OCA members, who are not a member of our club, to participate in our activities, provided it is on an occasional basis and the rider agrees to participate under the our club rules.  

A visiting OCA member from out of town may be permitted to participate in our club’s events at our discretion.   They must show proof of their membership and insurance with the OCA by showing an Affiliate Club membership card, UCI Licence. Anyone not able to show this type of proof will not be able to participate until they can provide this proof.
